Brief
Founded by Academy Award-winning producer Shane Boris, Cottage M is an independent production house focused on making films that push the boundaries of conventional forms in order to tell timeless stories. We worked with Cottage M to create a logo that equally felt timeless while being unmistakably iconic.
Finding
The idea was simple enough: a cottage and an m. Using traditional forms, the Cottage M logo was designed to contort the viewer’s perception and to encourage a second look. At one angle you see a house and from another, it’s an M. Through the recontextualization of simple geometric shapes, the resulting logo is timeless but with a clin d’oeil effect that is direct a reflection of the innovative and thought-provoking nature of the production house it represents.
