Nightingale is an American (new) bistro located in Greenwich Village, New York.
We were mandated with doing a competitive research in the very competitive and immediate vicinity to assist in crafting the concept’s positioning. As a result, we fine-tuned the restaurant to present themselves as both a brunch destination, as well as a cocktail bar.
In our discovery phase, what resonated most with us was the trade practice of ornamental birds in the 18th century. Nightingales, typically a singing bird, were common in this practice and would often stop singing when caged and die shortly after.
Based on this, we developed a brand around the idea of “loving free” and leaving the cage open at all times.
